Lune - Screenshots experiment

Lune's free-flowing screenshots give users a taste of the app's magic

Lune was designed to create beautiful canvases. These canvases combine with regular photos to create beautiful moments. With Lune, we are trying to add emotion to photos.

Our biggest challenge with lune was getting it to run smoothly across a wide range of android devices. Being a photography app, memory and speed are crucial for a great user experience.

There are ‘truck loads’ of photography apps on Google Play. So it was vital that we made Lune stand out in the crowd.

Lune screenshot experiment

Screenshots create compelling imagery about an app. We’ve always put great focus on screenshots in Cookbook, our first app which was showcased at Google I/O 2015 by Timothy Jordan. In the last 2 years, we’ve seen a lot of folks adopt the pattern that we had used in Cookbook. So, we decided to take a new approach with Lune.

The new screenshots used in Lune’s android app listing uses a continuous flowing design. Each screenshot is connected to one another moving on large canvas depicting a magical world covered with layered mountains and trees. The screenshots float amidst cute clouds that further enhance the visual imagery.

Feel free to take the app for a spin; you can download Lune from Google play.
